You should start a blog

If I could count the number of times I have heard, “You should write a blog”... My oh my, we'd be rich!
My response. We totally are... I'm getting to it.
Well five later, and we’re still getting to it. Oops. What!?! As if Two kids under five, working full-time, traveling , petsitting, woofing, home-schooling and being a mompreneur wasn't enough for me? I somehow thought i'd document it all, with carefully laid out content to share with the world. I mean what else could I possibly have to do in a day?
Truthfully, when I had to choose between sleep and blogging ... well, you can guess who won. And when there was a quiet moment to collect my thoughts, let’s just say I did NOT whip out the computer and start blogging. Plenty of days I'd look outside, see an awesome adventure calling our names and tell myself, I'll blog about to it tomorrow. So the common denominator here .... Procrastination!! I did NOT blog
Time to boss up and just get 'er done Jamie Bond!!
Quite simply, I wish I had.
We have shared some truly amazing experiences over the last few years. It was recently, that someone reached out to me, online asking me about our lifestyle and tips in getting started with the RVing, that it reminded me... we have something really cool that we should share with people.
Being a flight attendant, traveling full-time in an RV, and parenting in general should really warrant a lot of content, and it does! But then somehow I got to the point where I really didn't even know where to start. I'm not a writer, my english and grammar is average on a good day (Sorry, not sorry). Why on earth would anyone read what I have to say... WELL
The thing is, We have a story, Everyone has a story, and they are beautiful. We can learn so much from each other, and 5 years traveling meeting incredible people has only solidified that for us. This world has so much so much beauty in it if we are simply present to experience it.
What if I simply wrote it for me, for us, for our kids to read it later in life. A journal of our Journey? So i will blog with that as my WHY. To share stories, and adventures and little pieces of who we are.
We've visited some absolutely stunning places, the best ones, often completely unplanned. But the people we meet are the total icing on the cake.
Our adventures are always… hmmm shall we say, interesting. AND We parent like most, wanting to pull my hair out, most of the time.
But truth be told, Its the most incredible thing we’ve ever done. When we sold everything we owned 5 years ago to buy a large fifth wheel trailer, (without ever even seeing it) We knew we were in for the adventure of a lifetime. AND looking back, we wouldn’t change it for the world.
It was never about some grandeous, over the top transition, or even a life altering, desperate need for change. If i’m being totally honest it was literally just the next natural step for us. You see, our gypsy souls had guided us from the day we united.
We were the couple, who on a date day, drove to the mountains to take pictures, which turned into a weekend long adventure trip to the Okanagan (with a quick stop to pick up the necessities, toothbrushes and clean underwear. ) That weekend ALSO included a complete redirect for us. We changing our bases for work (online) and began house hunting. In a quiet moment, on a hillside with a beautiful sunset we decided to move to a place that called our hearts. We’re crazy like that. So the real question for us is never why, but rather why NOT?
We are YES people… big hard Yesses to life! To adventures, to time doing the things we love. When you live your life free of fear, and shift to the growth mindset. Incredible things happen.
So about this blog??
Better late than never, right? Basically, it’s never too late to start.
What we have done, over the course of the last few years, is invest in ourselves. Finding some incredible mentors. Some of the most valuable advice i’ve received, is this… If you feel intimidated to write to others or the idea of feedback scares the daylights out of you. Write for yourself. Write for someone you love and trust. Keep it simple. Keep it authentically you.
I squirrel out all the time. You’ll see , my blogs are about traveling, and amazing little gems that we find. They are about RV living, my love of essential oils, and food (although that is a separate blog we contribute to called Taste Haus) they are about the crazy random thoughts but most importantly they are ME! they are US. And they are finally happening. And maybe just maybe they’ll inspire someone.
I can promise you this , if you don’t change. If you’re not growing, one year from now, you will be in the same exact place you are today.
Today’s the day! Write your first blog about your fear or apprehension to blogging.
Write your first blog about the first blog you ever read and liked.
Write your first blog about the cute guy you saw at the coffee shop and how you wished you’d said hi, when he walked by you and smiled.
Good luck! Be kind to yourself, it’s process and it starts with baby steps but the first step starts today. Don’t wait 5 years, tell me a story!
